Pferde statt Motoren

Whether in front of the draft beer cart, the stagecoach or in the high mountains: draft horses were of great importance in the history of mobility. The role of horses in logistics and industry is the focus of the new special exhibition of the open-air museum on the Kiekeberg and the Zugpferdemuseum Lütau. A highlight is the original draft beer cart of the Hamburg-based Holsten Brewery, in front of which two life-size plastic horses with elaborate ceremonial dishes are stretched. The exhibition is open until October 28 and also shows the cooperation between humans and animals: What relationship did the servant to the horses and how did draft horses facilitate the work of the people? In the exhibition there are hands-on stations for all. Different weights and loads show what 1 hp really means, and on a driving instructor you take the rulers in your own hands. See and marvel at the special exhibition in the open-air museum on Kiekeberg and watch the Schleswig draft horses on the grounds of the museum.
